Position Description
The Transport Operations Regional Team supporting the Americas region is the face of Global Transport Operations at Expedia. As regional transport experts, this team is charged with accountability and ownership on issues reported and communicating effectively to the right audience progress on issues and worked upon initiatives till resolution/deployment. The Transport Operations Regional Team requires for this position a focused, organized and detail oriented individual with excellence in communication, air product knowledge to assist in the execution of this remit.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Prioritize / triage and track issues impacting regions, own and drive issues into Global Support teams
- Work closely with Air Account Management, Product Management, Technology, other cross functional teams on escalations, one–off requests & new initiatives and be the operational liaison with Global Transport Operations teams while keeping customers updated
- Expert on the Point of Sale’s / Region’s business and participation / close collaboration with various in country teams
Support the strategic objectives of the air business & fulfillment for their region by understanding the current state of Expedia’s service propositions within regions
- Support the rollout of new features / product offerings and drive New Points of Sale work from an operational delivery perspective
Provide continuous feedback to internal customers through meetings & formal reporting
- Research & analyze trends in transactional data if needed, to continually improve the customer experience and operating costs - Support specific in-country initiatives, products, workflows and air fulfillment performance if applicable
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 4 – 7 years of work related experience with strong knowledge of the air/tour travel market place
- Proven ability to analyze complex issues and problem solving skills
- Ability to work closely with business stakeholders to define, implement and support travel products
- Strong customer orientation and the ability to work across multiple divisions
- Must be highly flexible and capable of navigating through complex issues in a dynamic environment
- Superior analytical skills to support the optimization of varied business opportunities and ability to effectively prioritize tasks
Solid knowledge of Global Distribution Systems, Travel Agency Automation and Fares & Pricing is a must
- Excellent communication & inter-personal skills
- Bilingual in English and other regional languages (Portuguese and/or Spanish) a must
- Ability to gain a quick understanding on technology with a particular focus on e-commerce
- Goal oriented with the ability to multi-task
- Innate curiosity & initiative
- Strong interpersonal and team working skills
